The red, white, and blue weekend is finally here! As we gather with friends, family, and neighbors to celebrate Independence Day, the Holt Real Estate Team wants to wish everyone in the Greater Madison area a wonderful, fun-filled, and safe 4th of July weekend.

Madison always knows how to celebrate, and this year is bringing incredible traditions to our vibrant neighborhoods. If you're looking for the perfect spot to catch some jaw-dropping fireworks, enjoy live music, or grab a bite from local food truck faves, here are a few fantastic local happenings to get you started:

Featured Madison Area 4th of July Events

  • Stars, Stripes, and Shorelines A spectacular lakefront tradition in the making! A team-up of The Edgewater and the Wisconsin Union features live music, family-friendly activities, delicious local food and drink options, and a breathtaking fireworks display lighting up the night sky over the water. Grab a prime spot at either location, or anywhere along the shores of Lake Mendota for an unforgettable evening. Get the full schedule and viewing info on The Edgewater Events Page.

  • Monona Community Festival Running July 3rd and 4th at the beautiful Winnequah Park, this is one of Southern Wisconsin's longest-running Independence Day celebrations and it takes that responsibility seriously. It features a carnival, live bands, a new two-day art fair, and their famous gala fireworks display at dusk (around 9:20 PM) on July 4th. Check out the details at the Monona Festival Official Site.

  • Explore More Local Celebrations From the Forward Madison FC match and fireworks at Breese Stevens Field to community parades across Waunakee, DeForest, and Sun Prairie, there is no shortage of local pride! For a complete neighborhood-by-neighborhood guide to local festivals, visit the comprehensive Macaroni Kid Madison 4th of July Guide and check out our Team Leader Joshua's video breakdown of a few options.

Holiday Safety Tip: As you head out to enjoy the festivities or host a backyard barbecue, remember to keep your pets secure indoors away from loud noises, and stay hydrated during this July heat! (I can hear the "it's not so much the heat, it's the darn humidity" comments from here.)

From all of us at Holt Real Estate Team, have a safe and happy holiday. We absolutely love where we live and serve, at every time of year. If you are exploring these incredible communities this weekend and thinking about making Dane County your permanent home, we are always here to help you navigate the Madison market.

Happy Fourth of July, Madison!
